Schools can proactively prepare for both planned and unplanned transitions in order to ensure that your school can continue to achieve success during these potentially challenging times. This webinar will walk participants through a succession readiness checklist, and help them begin to identify key next steps to create a thoughtful action plan.

There are no secrets: classroom and behavior management are an open book but it takes much more than reading the contents. Those who create effective and appropriate classrooms and school climate work hard to develop a battery of skills, talents and knowledge that allows them to support both students and adults. This is all about creating a school culture devoted to learning, social and emotional growth and overall school success!

Everyone is talking about equity, and that's critical to our mission as educators. But what does it look like to move from theory to actual practice? What does equitable classroom instruction look like, and how can we assess it? What are the best ways to engage stakeholders, including teachers, in its development? This presentation discusses the development and implementation of an equity rubric used at Bard High School Early College Baltimore for classroom observations. Attendees can learn how something like this may work for their schools, too!

Join educational researchers Halley Potter and Michelle Burrris for an interactive presentation on how charter schools can advance the school integration movement in 2021. Discuss and develop solutions for increasing diversity in enrollment as well as pushing on equity within a school, and how the racial justice movement has presented a window of opportunity to center integration. Current school leaders and administrators as well as those planning new schools are welcome to join. There will be opportunities to work with colleagues, pose individual questions, and to ask Halley and Michelle about their recent published report on strengthening integration and diversity nationwide.

Creating the right school climate and culture is the most demanding and difficult part of managing schools. This webinar looks at the components of positive culture and climate: it also examines how to change what is not working. The advice will be practical, process-driven and tangible.

This interactive webinar will answer commonly asked questions by school administrators related to equitable schools. Administrators will learn how to decide if an equity audit is right for them, encouraging Board, staff and family buy-in, including student voice, and equity integration and sustainability. Participants will also learn how to create a school culture that incorporates strengths-based and inclusive language.

The Charter School Business and Operations Roundtable & Networking Group is a supportive space for Maryland charter school colleagues to share ideas and their challenges in a confidential setting. Restorative Practices has received a lot of attention over the past two or three years. However, many schools still have little idea of what’s involved, what the processes are and how schools can develop Restorative Practices processes and objectives. Jon McGill is the Academic Director for Baltimore Curriculum Project and has many years of supporting and training for Restorative Practices.
